End Gun Violence

We lose too many Americans to gun violence.  There have been more than 74 school shootings since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in late 2012.  We lose on average 32 people a day to gun murders in the U.S. and the homicide rate in the U.S. is 6.9 times higher than 22 other high-income, high population countries, combined.

Powerful lobbying groups, like the NRA, allow the ownership of guns to reach beyond the Constitution's intended purpose of the right to bear arms. Therefore, Congress must face the reality that access to firearms has created an epidemic of violence in communities across the country.  It is time to act.

Encourage Congress to pass common-sense gun-control legislation, including a ban on assault weapons and mandatory background checks for all gun purchases.
